This is a detailed digital tutorial for creating one of a kind fabric faerie wings, with 93 pages full of photos, illustrations, and instruction in PDF format. Please be aware that the tutorial is available in English only.

Methods are described for designing and creating silk faerie wings, and also wings made using shiny synthetic, animal free fabrics. This is an intermediate to advanced level craft and will require time, patience, and practice to complete.

Methods for wing painting and silk dying, are demonstrated, as well as how to paint crisp detail with silk dyes.

There is no sewing or use of patterns involved, as this is a sculptural project. Wings made using these methods can take a week or more to complete. You will need to be comfortable working with wire and also have basic drawing skills to get the most out of these techniques.

Tips on where to find materials for this project are included, and some of the recommended places ship internationally, but if you are outside the United States I can not guarantee that all of the materials listed will be available in your area.
